My oldest DS and his girlfriend at Natural Bridge in VA. They were looking for someplace to get away for his birthday and I found this place just scanning the map. It is absolutely amazing, and they had a fantastic time! My son took this pic (obviously) and ran it through a couple of filters. "Mom, can you make a page for this, please?" I was so inspired by the pic that I had this done in about 2 or 3 hours. I got done laying the page out and realized that I still hadn't even printed out the pic yet! It "fit" the page perfectly! I used texture medium and a "doily"-type paper to make the lace in the upper left corner, and along the bottom a little bit. The upper right corner is a piece of cheese cloth painted onto the page with gold acrylic paint. The little scratchy spot under the "lace" is something that didn't work (if the texture medium is too thick, the heat gun will melt it). I scraped that off and was left with this. Looks better than what I was after originally! The "messy" spot down along the left side of the pic is a splotch of tissue paper. The dots under that were made using a piece of bubble wrap. The wagon wheel and stalk of flowers is on a piece of corrugated cardboard. I stated with the brown paper from the basic grey "offbeat" collection pack and then mixed some Wild Honey stain in white acrylic paint and painted the whole page with that and went from there.
