SHCG: I love the way you used the stitching here. I love the colors you chose and the angle of the yellow border/frame. I think I would use some of that light blue cs to mat the photo to make it stand out a bit more, but great page and answer to the challenge!
SHCG: LUV the color combination. I really like how you tied the colors in the photo to the papers and flowers. And speaking about the photo...Great photo and quote.
SHCG: First off, I love your approach to this challenge. Mostly when you think of stiching on LOs it's typically a border of some sort or at least a complete line. It's not often you see it used like this. I love your colors here and this is such a fun LO. My only suggestion would have been to mat the photo. I was thinking that you could have made the light blue cardstock big enough to mat the photo and contain the quote at the bottom.
SHCG: Love the colors on this. Love the quote for this pic. I love how you stitched everything on too! I would never have that kind of patience. I would like to see some journaling (even if hidden somehow), but then I'm a journaling junkie.
SHCG: I love the use of the blues & orange together! Love the flowers, especially the glitzy one. The quote for your journaling is too funny. Love this one as is.
SHCG: I love your take on the challenge with the stitched floral centers and those itty bitty flowers you hand stitched. I also think the pic, coupled with the quote, is hilarious. Nice choice of complementary colors, as well. I like the whimsical font of the title. Also, putting the pp behind the glitzy flower is such a nice touch. The frame set askew, the frame pp, the whole lo in general, seems Japanese inspired. I'm okay with the minimalist approach in omitting the journaling on this one. Minor suggestions would be to make the vellum block and the photo the same lengths, and maybe consider a mat for a photo and some of that blue/white pp underneath the vellum.
SHCG - This is a fun page - great quote & love how the pp frame is slightly askew. The stitched flower centers are unexpected & a nice response to the the challenge. Very pretty color combo, pp & sprinkling of flowers! However, I am left wanting a little more...perhaps the addition of a journaling block near the top left corner of the photo explaining instances of how your mom fits the quote would do the trick, in the same light blue as the title block...??
This is my layout for the Scrap Happenzz Critique Group Challenge which involved stitching. Seeming ive done a number of layouts with stitching on them i thought i'd use it a little differently so i stitched the flowers on and also did a few little ones in thread.
