This LO is about my sister Stephanie. She has a hard time understanding the difference between different types of animals. She's getting better...but it's still funny, and we tease her a lot about it.

This LO highlights one of her best "lines" about animals. She once said to me, when I was trying to tell her that birds are not mammals: "If birds aren't mammals then what are they?"

Journaling reads: "Steph tends to get confused between the different types of animals. But especially between birds and mammals. Her reasoning? Birds *LAY* eggs and mammals *HAVE* eggs. She and a friend once convinced themselves that penguins are mammals because they "don't have feathers and they don't fly, they swim." She has also gotten a llama and an ostrich confused. Animals are not her strong suit."
