Love the Mr. and Mrs. Claus. The snow globe is such a cool idea, I have not used it but I think I would like to try. I love the blue with the red and white and the bow ties it perfectly.
How cute! I love the snowflake paper on the background of the snow globe and the rich red stripes for the card background. The mirror card outer ring of the globe makes it look so professional. That glitter snow is just perfect. I love the stitched front piece and the ribbon and tie on the front. The little heart between Santa and Mrs. Claus is a precious little detail. Love, love, love this.
I thought of doing a shaker card with this sketch as well and chickened out because I have as of yet not tried it yet. (I will someday though I think.) But obviously the idea is so perfect for it. Cute Santa couple of course. And I am loving the grey checkered pp strip with the crisp red ribbon and bow.
Adorable! Your bow is perfect (wish my bows were half as nice). One of these days I'm going to have to get brave enough to try a shaker card; yours are always so cute!
So I noticed the card right away because it's a shaker and completely adorable. Then after reading your assembly descriptions I know you're a genius. A really thoughtful and innovative way to create a shaker, thanks for the knowledge. And of course it has your distinct flair of awesomeness.
I created this snowglobe shaker card for sketch #5 of the October Card Sketch Challenge. By using 2 consecutive circles from my nesting circles die set, I die cut several (I think it was 6) thin rings that I stacked and glued together to make the frame for my shaker. I also cut a circle of snowflake print for my snowglobe background. Before attaching the stacked ring frame to the snowflake print circle, I trimmed a section of the frame off so that I could create more of a snowglobe rather than a full circle shaker. I used a piece of white fun foam across the bottom of where the semi-circle ends were and made sure it was flush with the frame so as not to have glitter spill out of the shaker. I then added Santa and Mrs. Claus icon stickers before sprinkling in a bit of Ranger Distress Stickles glitter for my snow. I die cut a piece of acetate and another ring, this time in silver mirror card, as my top layer of the shaker. Double sided tape seals it all off. I attached a strip of white and gray gingham print over the fun foam and added a red bow. The snowglobe piece was then adhered to a red and white striped background with a silver mirror card mat.
Thank you for your kindness and encouragement. I appreciate it so very much!
