This is lovely! Nice subtle "60" too. The thought of you & your mom trading butterfly cards warms my heart... rainbows are meaningful between my mother & me but we don't regularly trade cards with them anymore. (Though my sis & I still trade cow cards in similar fashion but I digress...)
The idea for this card is inspired by Nina Brackett's Shabby Congratulations card on p. 47 of the March/April 2011 issue of Paper Crafts magazine. When I saw her card, I initially planned on a direct scraplift, but my card had a mind of its own and this is the result. The section with the sentiment is cut from a larger pp cs and raised on adhesive foam.
I made this card for my mother's milestone birthday. When she turned 50, she got really angry when she opened gifts that commemorated the milestone. With that in mind, I wanted to include the number 60, but not in an obvious way, which is why I chose stickers very similar in color to the bg pp. Ever since I got married, we've traded birthday cards with butterflies on them. I hope she likes it and is touched that I made her a card rather than opted for a store-bought this year.
