This LO is great on so many levels. The way the rainbow colors (quite literally) transition to the black and white creates such a mood change for me. The perspective that the simple color scheme provides is poignant. I also love the way the tags on tito and tita are colored. It has such a cultural feel to me. Also, the skeletons that you used are wonderful. They are very "dia de las muertas" instead of Halloweenish. Feel me? Much deeper and complex. I like the recurring theme of the clocks, very symbolic. The emotion that this spread evokes are tangible and I think that you did an amazing job conveying your "Rainbows and Skeletons". Powerful.
Wow. This packs quite a punch for me. I love how you used the bright colors that go directly to the black and white, but I think you should have continued that theme with your tag (I see the red peeking out there). Would have kept that black or white as well (at least the part you can see). You obviously thought this through so I'm sure you have your reasons for the tag coming out at the bottom, but this is the only detractor for me. I don't know Brenda... when I see pages on this deeper level I feel like they are too private to "critique". I have a hard time trying to detach myself from the "feeling" of the LO so that I can get down to paper and brads. KWIM? But I love the fact that you're not afraid to scrap your true feelings and the "not so happy" events in life. I am moved by this.
This is my contribution to Dirty Rotten Scrapper, Dolores's, cj. The left side reflects happy childhood memories, while the right side lets a few family skeletons out of the closet.
