One of my friends in college showed performed one of these for us. Obviously, we didn't study it, just tried to enjoy the pretties of it. Like your cherry blossoms on this with the negative die cut leaves. Very pretty accents.
I had to enlarge the photo to see the shaker...Very clever to cut out the leaf shapes. Love the beautiful dimensional flowers. You were so cute in your kimono. What a wonderful skill/tradition your mother taught you.
I love these pics of my mom teaching me the art of Japanese tea ceremony. She dressed me up in my yukata (summer kimono) and we went through all of the steps, culminating in my favorite traditional sweet treats.
Thought I'd try something different - it's a little hard to see - but the left side is one giant shaker.
