This is awesome! What a great tribute and way to share the word of how important early detection is! My Mom anf BOTH of her sisters are all breast cancer survivors, so I can really appreciate your message! TFS :)
This page is a little hard to see since it's all in muted pink. The title reads 'victim' in black and 'breast cancer' in the background in pink. This is printed on vellum and mounted on pink paper.
The main picture is mounted on pink paper and attached with snaps.
The journaling block shows a background of my grandmother's gravestone, through a pink filter. The journaling is overlaid on top with a drop shadow. The picture is mounted on pink paper and attached with snaps. The journaling reads as follows:
"This is my maternal grandmother, Ailene. She died four years before I was born. She was diagnosed with breast cancer. The family could not afford treatment. Five years later, the cancer had spread to her brain, and she passed away in a nursing home on July 27, 1971. I wish I could have known her. My sister knew her five short years. My mother and her sisters and brother have never said one negative thing about her. She was a woman of strength, beauty, and endurance. There will never be another like her. Nowadays, breast cancer is more easily diagnosed. The urgency of breast self-exams and regular checkups cannot be stressed enough. Women, do not delay--get checked out today, especially if you have a history of breast cancer in your family."
The lower left is a graphic of a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon, torn on the edges.
The upper right picture is my grandmother with my grandfather, accented with pink buttons.
