I adore this LO! Both for the story you documented - its those funny little things that if we don't write down we forget - and the design of the LO. Its so fun and happy - I like how you were able to use so many photos artistically!
This is my first time stitching on a layout! I started sewing this spring, on our treadle machine (around 1900) that we had kept for decorative reasons, but it works fine! Some things I made can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/31917179@N04/
Journaling: When you turned 3, we signed you up for the dancing group at kindergarten. Led by the dancing teacher Mrs. Friederici your weekly dancing lesson is the perfect opportunity for your artistic trait. Since you've been dancing, your motor and coordination skills have improved tremendously. At the Christmas perfomance one could see your wholeheartedness and the fun you were having. We had to laugh about the following little story:
All girls are getting a little wrap skirt for a special song. When all girls are set, Jacob (Samuels best friend) marches up to the dancing teacher: "I want a skirt, too!" Mrs. Friederici is slightly unsure: "Um, Jacob, those skirts are for girls, actually ... um, you know what? We will turn it into a belt for your sword!" Jacob: "I am not allowed to bring my sword to kindergarten" (his parents are laughing). When Jacob has finally turned back to the group - Mrs. Friederici being quite relieved to have saved the situation - Samuel walks up to her, looking at her with desperate eyes (parents laughing). Mrs. Friederici: "Oh, you would also like to have a skirt for your sword?" Samuel: "No, it just twirls nicely ..." (all the parents laughing). Well, I would say: "Discover your female self ..."
The title is an English-Geman play on words: "Rock" means "skirt" in German.
