The tools I use most frequently are stored vertically on my desk top in a correspondence box I found on clearance at TJ Maxx. Everything I need within easy reach. To keep the blades on the cutters from sliding down I stretch a rubber band around the edge. Ponytail holders would work too. The wire basket also holds extra supplies like sand paper, paperclips, tape measure, erasers & compass. If I need more room on my desk for a project I move the wire container away.
