SHCG: I don't think I ever saw the first layout. I really like how you used all of the different colors in your title. It ties in to the pattern paper. It's interesting to see the negative spaces and how it compliments the layout. and the stripes and circles move the eye to your photo. The inking of the photo mat is a nice extra touch.
SHCG: I never came back because I couldn't remember the bright idea I fell asleep with. That's what I get for not using the notepad by my bed. I love the additions. The simple title is perfect. The tree is a nice part of the pp's bg, and the embellies are understated, but just the right touch. I like how you used different font letters, and I'm so happy you went with this journaling. Makes me wanna see how true this is for us as a couple, too. Sweet page. You may not have many of the two of you, but this is worth an album!
SHCG: Cool pic! I really like the negative space and am loving the chipboard pieces. No original title suggestions but I do Like "Rooted in Love". Oh, how about "Just the two of us"
SHCG: Need to carve out some time to read through suggestions that have already been made, and think about my own. Just wanted you to know I haven't forgotten. Until then, I have this to offer: I like what you wrote in the lo thread about this being one of the few pics of the two of you. I think that would be perfect for the journaling. Be back in a day or two...
SHCG: I love seeing a picture of the both of you! I really like the pp and the ribbon running along the top and bottom of it. I like the 2 chipboards on the upper right but I liked the suggestion to use something like raffia to tie in them. The 2 chipboard pieces on the bottom seem a bit out of place but I can't come up with a solution, yet. I have an odd suggestion for a title, if you have a stamp that is similar to a plant, or swirls that coould come off the top of the title block...Rooted with Love. My mind works in mysterious ways.
SHCG: Neat! 'm really loving those chipboard elements...the butterfly wings look amazing. I think that i would put the journaling block over some of that green paper and bring it down to the left bottom portion of the picture and then maybe sprinkle some buttns around the page to play off the circles in your pp.
SHCG: So far I really like what you have here and I think you are on your way to a great page! Do you have any stamps that would work well on this page? Maybe some leafy stamps...I was thinking you could stamp in a slightly darker color yellow and stamp throughout the background page. I think that would add another interesting element to the plain yellow. I agree with Sharon about he tear drop pieces... For a title, what about Just You & Me... Some fun chipboard letters would add another texture to your page...
SHCG - Nice that this features a pic of you 2 together! I like the basic off-center placement so far on this page. Fun pp & embellies, I admire your desire to steer away from certain elements as I'm not sure I could myself on this page, ha. Now, I'm not a fan of the 2 chipboard teardrops up there, I feel it makes things a little top heavy. I could see one angled in the lower right of the photo, like a photo corner (I don't think you need 2). Then as for the 2 smaller, leaf-y ones at the bottom, I can see the top bluish one staying put, then moving the other one vertical next to the title (where the left big chipboard teardrop currently is). That way, the 2 smaller leafy ones are diagonal from each other, would make a visual triangle w/ the larger teardrop in the lower right & would frame the pic better. Just an idea. You mentioned the title in the thread - since you're at the Botanical Garden, how about something that connects your love to a plant/garden theme? "Perennially Together," "Ever Blooming, Ever Growing" - something like that...
SHCG: When I saw those two chipboard pieces they look like butterfly wings, I was going to tell you to make a butterfly out of them since you guys were at the gardens, but then I just read that you want to stay away from flowers/butterflies, so I guess that's out LOL I love the picture of you both, very cute, love the background papers. Maybe you can just do photo corners or doodle a border around the picture. check out: http://www.theperfecttitle.com/love/Love.shtml for titles, I like "You & Me... So Happy Together" :)
shcg: so here's what I'm thinking... Take another solid cardstock to put as your journaling spot over the pp. Keep it square so you can see all the colors/patterns around it, then doodle on your lines/brackets and put on your journaling. The chipboard pieces to the top right - I think you need to deal with the button holes on them. Either poke through brads that are slightly larger than the holes, or maybe tie raffia or some other fiber through them - just in a knot, no bows necessary. I so really enjoy seeing a pic of you and your hubby. Great, fun colors. :)
