I made this IC (Index Card) for a friend collecting them from crafty friends. I decided to use the Curly Girl digital stamps from Vera Lane Studios for the girl jumping/flying up and the pup on the right to represent me and my Havanese, Bandito. I doodled the little pink poodle on the left to represent my sweet Biscuit.
I used Bristol Paper for everything so that I could watercolor without worrying about saturating or ruining the paper. I used a Copic multiliner pen to doodle in the jumping up lines as well as the grassy horizon line. I water colored everything up with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a water brush. The sentiment, "Whatever is good for the soul...Do that." is also from the digital stamp set but I cut it apart and doodled in the framing lines so that the sentiment would pop from the background.
For framing the whole IC, I used a black marker to create a checker detail for extra dynamic look. To emphasize the jumping up or flying movement of the girl, I also added flat back pearl and gem stickers.
I love how this whimsical selfie IC came out looking so cheerful. I hope my friend enjoys it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
