This lo is for September's Sketch Challenge to choose a sketch of anyone on scrapbook.com as a a bonus challenge for the month. I used the following sketch by Lifeinthefastlane as seen here: http://www.scrapbook.com/myplace/index.php?mod=galleries&u=118317&m=view&id=2541437&type=-1&start=120&page=1&f=1

Finally, this is the "official" story of how Lucky became a part of our family. I kept this lo really simple because I wanted the journaling and photos to stand out because that's the whole purpose of this lo. I never want to forget this crazy whirlwind of Lucky becoming a part of our family! I do kind of feel like this lo is missing something though...do you think something needs to be in the corners? I couldn't find anything that looked right to me! Maybe some more doodling? I'm not sure! Journaling is as follows (sorry it's so long! LOL):

Dad was down checking on his boat when he called to say that he could hear a cat crying. Mom and I went to see if we could help him figure out where the cat was located. When we got there we realized the sound was coming from the opposite side of the cove where they were tearing down an old fish plant. We tried to drive around to the other side but they had it gated off so we began to go over in Dad's boat. Half way there we saw a little grey kitten on a rock crying its heart out. Before we could get close enough to dock the cat made a leap for the boat and thankfully didn't land in the water. I grabbed the kitten and my dad and I took her inside the boat where she started purring and climbing all over me, butting her head in my face as if she couldn't get close enough to you. We took her to our house for some food and put up a poster with a photo at the local convenience store and asked if anyone had a missing cat. We decided to keep her out in the garage overnight and as soon as you went out she would start crying and run over to you and jump up in your lap. It didn't take me long to get very attached and the next day mom called the local vet to see if they would take her. They agreed so Mom and I took her up and I was so upset to see her go. The next evening when my parents were talking my dad mentioned that he would have kept her. After some discussion, we decided to bring her back down for the weekend to see how we made out since we had our other cat Snuggles. But when Mom called the vet on Friday morning we were told that someone else had spoken for her. We were so disappointed because by that point we had really decided to give it a try. I had been on vacation that week and went back to the city. On Monday morning, my last day off, the phone started ringing at 9:00am and it was my Mom telling me the vet had called and the other person had fell through so the kitten was ours if we wanted her. We knew when we went to get her that there was no turning back and that she was coming home with us to stay. There's no doubt in our minds that Lucky was meant to be a part of our family!

Thanks for looking!
