Journaling: (hidden behind photo) Ed and I have always loved going to see Cirque du Soleil so when I saw “Cirque Dreams” was coming to Charlotte, I HAD to get tickets. Then I saw it was only a 90 minute show and thought that would be the perfect way to introduce Kassie and Ashley to the “Cirque life”. Little did I know that this show actually is not affiliated with Cirque du Soleil but still had all the same fun and magic as the real show. The girls had a wonderful time, as did we all. We laughed constantly and I just loved watching the girls enjoy the show. Their eyes widened, they’d laugh and smile, and of course charmed everyone around them. The show was wonderful . . . so full of vibrant color, exciting atmosphere, wonderful music and amazing talents from all across the world. It’s frustrating when they don’t allow you to take pictures but I did manage to get one shot of the girls’ favorite stage prop – the huge Grandfather clock that towered over everyone on the stage. After the show, both the girls expressed interest in being on stage like that when they get older. While I silently cringed inside, I was touched to know that they love the arts as I did when I was a kid . . . and I hope they carry that love in their heart into adulthood, just as I have. ============================ For the metal strips at the top and bottom, the clock hands and the CD, I used Ranger Alcohol Inks and blended them together. I also sprayed them with hairspray, which gave them a very "dreamy" blend.
I also used twinkling H20s and painted the middle strip of paper, which gave it a shimmery, dreamy look as well.
