JOURNALING (hidden behind photo): “Hey Furby!” is a phrase I hear shrieked every so often when the girls want to play with these animatronic beings. Personally, they freak me out a little bit. I mean honestly, when a 4 year old says “Hey Furby, sing me a song” and this little creature belts out a lovely rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”, you tend to wonder what makes it tick. Furbies were released to the public in 1998 but didn’t have half the capabilities that they do today. They were also about half the size of the ones currently on the market. When Kass and Ash saw the commercials for these little guys, they started asking around Halloween if Santa might bring them one for Christmas. I knew Christmas would be rather miserable if we weren’t able to adopt one of these little things. Fortunately, Santa was kind enough to grace us with TWO Furbies . . . one for each of them. Now, they not only talk to the girls but they also talk to each other.
Hmmmm …. I wonder if “Hey Furby, clean my house!” would work? 01/06
