Journaling Reads:
Well, YOU are “OFFICIALLY” Two now. Everyone has ALWAYS talked about the “Terrible Twos”. Even though, Your “Terrible Twos” started 2 months early, prior to your 2nd Birthday.
For the most part, you are a GREAT KID! But, from time to time, you throw one of your “fits”. You do this, JUST to see how much you can get away with.
Even though, you have these “fits”, Mommy STILL LOVES YOU! Mommy calls it “Our Power Struggle Game”. You spend Timeout, in the playpen. You began to really dislike the playpen, when you started walking. You are only in Timeout for 1-minute.
But, for that 1-minute, You KICK, SCREAM, and CRY! This 1-minute seems like an ETERNITY, to the both of us.
You scream the ENTIRE TIME: “Mommy Up”, “MOMMY UP”! When Timeout is over, we always have a little chat. Mommy explains to you why you were in Timeout. Then, Mommy dries your tears, and your little snotty nose, with a Kleenex. Mommy ALWAYS says “I LOVE YOU” and hugs and kisses you.
Timeout is one of the parts of being a Mommy, That Mommy really doesn’t like. BUT, Mommy does it because she LOVES YOU! Setting limits and saying the word “NO”, will help you become a stronger/better little girl.
One day, you will understand what Mommy is talking about. When you are a Mommy yourself. Years from now, as you sit and read this. Mommy hopes it gives you strength, to know that your Mommy had days like this.
