I totally understand!! I can still remember my parents phone # growing up and I have a really bad memory!! I know how sad it is for you because when my mom had to sell her house it really bothered me. Love the LO!!! :0)
I know how you feel. When my dad died, my mom moved a year later out of our family home that we lived in for over 36 years. I still remember that number as if I just dialed it yesterday, 747-5351.
I know exactly what you mean... I'm 51 now and I can still tell you my
parents home phone number...sigh...it's been gone since 1988, but... it still holds a special place in my heart too...TFS! Great LO!!
Love the story and the page is awesome! I totally "get" what you mean...877-2062 is my lifetime childhood, growing up phone...but I can still call it and get my brother...he lives in our house we grew up in...
TFS this page!
Awwww. I feel the same what about my old phone number when I lived in Michigan. Long gone is that number, but I remember it clearly and what it meant. What a great idea to make a page about this. This is a wonderful LO and and wonderful memory!
It's amazing how something like a phone number can trigger certain memories and associations, isn't it? I love that you chose this topic to journal about, because sometimes it's these little things that mean so much!
I had this happen to me too. My parents sold their house and moved to another country. I didn't mind losing the house so much but losing the no. That was hard!
My grandparents have lived in the same house since I was a baby and a few months ago THEY moved as well. OH MY GOSH, I cried and cried and cried!
I feel like I don't have a home any more. It is really unsettling. Especially as that is my emergency contact number EVERYWHERE!
NSB All Day Challenge Layout. Journaling Reads: Ok, I admit this may seem a bit silly to some but it's quite significant to me. For over 25 years this phone number has meant home to me. you could always find me at this number or at least get in touch with me. It is my childhood number and the number I have been able to find my mother at since I moved away from home. Well this week that number changed. My mom has relocated and had to let the number go, to my displeasure. My grade school friends still remember this number. I admit, I've even thought, "how will anyone find me now! LOL! I have laughed about it and definitely cried about it. This number holds a special place in my heart and my memories. And forever it will be a part of what I remember as HOME! 338-4574.
