Another layout of my Grandpa and Grandma. This photo was taken on their wedding day in 1941. My grandpa was away in the Army and their wedding kept getting postponed because of his schedule. One night he called to tell my grandma that he was getting off on leave for just the weekend. He drove 200 miles to her and they had a very simple wedding the next day at his sister's house in San Rafael, CA. They spent their wedding night separated - Grandma at her parent's house and Grandpa on a Greyhound bus back to his base. My journaling on this layout reads: "Grandpa and Grandma were married on Nov. 4, 1941 in San Rafael, CA while Grandpa was on a weekend leave from the Army. They remained married until Grandpa's death in 1986...45 years!" Also, I need to mention that I scraplifted most of this layout from an issue of Creating Keepsakes Magazine...not sure which one. The stems, leaves, and hearts I handcut from Bazzill cardstock.
