Okay, so anyone who looks at this will have to tell me whether this was a nerdy idea or not. I had some cute pictures of myself (okay, I took them myself...my husband thinks I'm so weird..but hey--it's a new digital camera!) and didn't anything much to write about, so I just stuck on an e-mail conversation between my family and I that I thought was funny. Here it is (if you don't read it all, I don't blame you...it's a NOVEL!):
Kayli:
So. I was thinking last night about what kind of shoes people would be if they were shoes. Here goes:
Megan would be an ultra classic medium-heeled black shoe, perfect for all occasions; looks glamorous when dressed up, and stylish with blue jeans.
Amy would be brown leather shoes with a trendy design and a buckle on the side. They look way cute and preppy, but not like I-spent-hours-getting-this-way preppy. Ready for a night out or just running around and playing.
Andrea would be crazy strappy limey shoes with high heels, but they do not completely lack practicality in that they are closed-toed and have a heel.
Kami would be (okay, Kami is hard to analyze) an olden-day Victorian boot that you have to wrap the laces around the hooks, maybe a burgundy or lighter pink color.
Lindsay would be those shoes that people wore with their poodle skirts. You know, they're black and white? I forget what they're called, but (for a shoe anyway) they're the epitome of fun, innocent, carefreeness.
Ethan would be bright red running shoes--exuberant, but comfy.
Derek--all I can think of are basketball shoes. Expensive ones.
Mom-Okay, with mom I get to cheat and have a shoe on one foot and a different shoe on the other foot. The first one is a work shoe--made for practicality only--nothing much more to tell about it. The other foot has a gorgeous (dark) red high-heeled shoe--ultra classy--ultra stylish.
I can't decide for Dad, I DEFINITELY can't decide for Wyatt, and I can't decide for myself. So tell me everybody, If I were a shoe, what kind would I be?
Andrea:
HAHAHAHAHA. Kayli, you definitely bring fun to thinking. Is the shoe for your good foot or your peg leg? Hee hee.
Dad's shoes are slippers--but with a funny design or picture--he is comfortable to be around and makes you laugh.
Wyatt--who knows.
You? Hmmm, I'm leaning toward the same sort of shoe you assigned to Amy, perfect for a party of almost any type. Who knows--I hadn't thought about shoes this way before. Thank you--you made my day. The next few hours I can happily think about people and shoes, and puzzle over what Tim would be.
Megan:
Kayli, you are very creative and a deep thinker so I will have to think what kind of shoe is fun, creative and a deep thinking kind of shoe. HMMMMM..... since I am not as creative as you I am having a hard time - I will think on it a while.
Kami:
I disagree with mine. Although I can't really say what I'd be instead. Sorry Kate.
And I think Wyatt's would be a pair of gum boots. I like Andrea's assessment of Dad too. Anyway, that's all.
Lindsay:
I like the Wyatt's are gumboots idea. Kami---yours fit you perfectly. I think Dad’s would be old, really worn, really nice-fitting, comfortable cowboy boots that he's had for a long time and fit him and only him. I like the shoes you picked for me. I've always loved those shoes. I'm not sure what fits my personality. Kayli, you are amazing.
Derek:
I would be a rough out of the west brown cowboy boot. Because I am a wanna be Sackett. Although I do like a good pair of basketball shoes. Just to let you know Wyatt's B-ball shoes are 3 times more expensive than mine.
bye bye from wanna be Sackett and almost Doc
Kami:
I've continued to ponder this and I think Kayli wouldn't be a shoe at all, but barefoot, the ultimate in freedom and fun. And since I disagreed with mine, I decided to put what I think I would be. I think I would be a sandal with a wooden base and woven straps, stylish but somewhat offbeat.
Andrea:
I like the Kayli barefoot idea.
Kayli:
Kami, Brett said that barefoot is the ultimate in freedom and fun unless you are on a gravel road. He has a point there.... I guess.
Andrea:
How Brett of him.

TFL!!!! (especially if you got through all that!)
