SHCG - Don't think I saw the original of this (did I?? Darn jetlag!) so can't comment on the changes but I love these jewel tones & how this rich blue gives the feeling of nighttime. Great blue/green shading around the quote & absolutely LOVE those fabby star embellies, very cool! I like Denitzza's suggestion about yellow around the photos, but I am also visualizing something that both emphasizes the quote more (without stealing focus from the lovely photos) as well as ties the quote & photos together - perhaps inking the quote & photos w/ some pretty silver ink. That would add a little sparkle, unify things but only serve to enhance the pretty focal balance you have already created here. And of course, I am so loving the quote, photos & sentiment together - very beautiful. :)
SHCG: Oh, I love the stars and the arch. The colors are simple and appropriate. I like the matted photos. The overlapping photos gently move the eye across them. I think I would have left some more spacing on the edges of the photos to make the outside margin a bit more equal, but that could be a result of cropping the image of your LO. TFS!
SHCG: Wow, I love those stars, they're so pretty! Great pics, I agree with Nitzza about some yellow around the pics. I like how you colored in the letters on the quote. Great job :)
SHCG: I REALLY like the blue, the stars, and the title. There is something about the way the photo are overlapping each other that bothers me. It might just be the square edges. I am stumped on any more comments. I think it may help if you lose a photo or two and rearranged a little. But as I LOVE multiple photo pages I can't believe I am suggesting this. PS A few stars as photo corners may tie it all together a little better
SHCG: Love the photos! Great quote and great colors! The stars are just right here! I think if there is something yellow under the photos, it will help balance the yellow on top-a border of stars, or just cluster of stars. I love the quote!
SHCG: What a beautiful quote and I adore these pictures. It is so cool to see these, especially when I just saw the grown-up pics of your baby girls. There is so much I love about this. I like the photo mounts and the chalking/inking that you did. It looks perfect. I also like the way you have the photos layered one atop the other. Those stars are totally rad. Did you make those? If so, please share how. Love 'em. I think that I would like to see the quote in the top left or right corner. Then, I'd like to see the yellow strips cut into much thinner strips and have them flowing down toward the pics like moonbeams. (I keep picturing Nitza's Virgo tentacles on her recent layout.) Then you could intersperse the stars to seem as though they are floating down. I love this, Christy. The colors are beautiful, as are the subjects. I'm glad you got to get back to something you started a while ago. :-) xoxo
SHCG: I do like this page and where you are going with it. I love the little whimsical stars and think you should continue this theme more throughout the page. I think the dark solid blue background is a little overpowering, so since it seems to be a night themed page what if you found a background that was a dark blue with stars all over it...a page that looks like a night sky is what I am trying to say. Maybe that would tone the blue down and add some dimension. I love the quote, but also think maybe a title at the top and arrange the quote a bit differently on the page... I have to say beautiful pictures and I love the night theme!
SHCG: I love those embellies, the color combo, and those pictures are so sweet. Christy, I've never seen the original (I did look for it in your gallery) so I can't comment on the improvements. I have to say that all that blue space weighs down on the bottom two pictures, and though the yellow beams redirect the eyes to the same pics, I can't get past that they look like a wishbone with the quote in the middle. I like the idea you have going here, but I think the whole page and all the elements you've used need reorienting. I don't have any specific suggestions--maybe cut up that yellow into wispy strands and some spirals to disperse the color a little more and break up that blue. Just be sure your focal photos remain the main feature of the page.
This is a re-do Layout. I had never quite finished this LO because I didnt like the way it was heading. I had this in my book for about 2 years and a few weeks ago decided to tackle it. This is the finished product.
