SHCG - So amazing Christy. As I said on the left side, love that you used his fave color blue. The crackle paper, the other colors, the double matting, journaling - all of it works so beautifully together. Seeing that single doodle of the flowers/swirls up there is just so haunting to me, it's just so perfect & lovely up there alone. You are such a little cutie too! Thanks again for sharing this w/ us, excellent job.
SHCG: What a great tribute page. Absolutely love your choice of pictures as well as colors. The little details make this page awesome: the vellum, brads, doodles, layers. It all ties together so nicely. Love the title and the distressed look of it. Awesome two-pager
SHCG:I like the blue brads here! May be you can make a red heart and put it some where ( i like the space between the photos and the journaling for a heart) on this page so you can have some red here too. But over all great lo! And great tribute to your brother!
SHCG: I like the blue brads here. I think it was a good choice. This is such a special, sweet, happy page of you with your siblings. For that reason, I feel some of the words and their arrangement on the vellum are a little too formal. I think "Left page" and "Right page" are a little more informal. Then, rather than underscore and center those words, I'd place them on the left with a colon and the captions following. The technical words will get less attention that way. On that note, I'd start with the name and age of each person, and the direction of the photo following and not capitalized. Also, I'd make it more personal by removing the parentheses--they dominate here because there are so many--and writing Michael, age 5... At 5, Michael caught his first fish with Mom by his side... Phil at 4, me barely 1... You get the idea. I'd also move the whole brown block with photo and journaling up, over the white doodle, put the white doodle underneath, and place the brads in a column next to the bottom two photos. I think this will create a mirrored, opposite effect of the left page. I'm sorry if this is overly critical. It is still such a wonderful tribute, as is.
SHCG: Let me start by saying what an adorable little baby you are. Now, let me echo my comments from the other side. Christy, this is an absolutely beautiful tribute to your brother. The sentiment you chose for the title could not be more perfect. I think that your use of the aged wood patterned paper really complements the older pictures. The torn vellum looks very nice, as a journaling block and I love the things you shared. The triple mats on the pictures look beautiful and really look as though you have recreated framed photos and that looks great here. Finally, I love that you chose blue as a tribute to his favorite color. My heart goes out to you and your family on the loss of your brother all those years ago.
Once again, my "sewing" program "tucks" things inward when i bring the 2 scans together into one page. Everything is linear irl.
Jornaling on page 1: Michael John 1967 - 1972
You were mom and dad's first born child, a big brother, nephew, & a grandchild. You were diagnosed with luekemia when you were still a baby and fought a fight for your life that would be difficult for any adult.
I was still a baby of only 1 ½ years when you left this world but my soul still remembers the big brother who protected me and loved when I rubbed the peach fuzz that replaced your hair when it all fell out.
In your 5 years on this earth, you taught so many people so much. The wisdom you carried at such a young age could have only come from an angel with a direct pipeline to God. I know you are still with us, looking down from above awaiting the day we all are together again. We love you!

This is one of the few photos we have of Michael with no hair, he was usually embarrased by it but in this photo he was so proud of his fish, he didnt care.
