This is the old home place of my gggg grandparents. The kitchen is on the left corner of the house. Directions are from my great-grandmother Nellie Smith Bean: Alone and to right of Delray, WV, turning right at Les Bean’s old place and follow to hollows. Located at the foot of Short Mountain.
You can't see it but all the men are holding rifles. I'm told the young boys were angry with their dad because dad wouldn’t let them hold guns for the photo. lol I really love this photo because it shows 3 generation of my family. They also have 2 large dogs in this photo. Circa 1889.
