This is a page for my Book of Me album...the challenge was to scrapbook memories of school days....One of my most vivid memories were of the day President Kennedy was shot....the journaling reads:

November 22, 1963...I was 10 years old...a 5th grader. We Had been outside on the playground for recess. When we came back to our classroom, our Principal Mr Altaffer came to each classroom and told us that our President John F. Kennedy, had been shot in Dallas.
It was a Friday, so we were sent home to watch the news on television. I remember feeling so sad for Caroline and John Jr. Kennedy...they were younger than me, and now they didn't have a Daddy....

I remember so much about that week after President Kennedy was shot...I remember the images of John Jr saluting his Father's coffin....and the horse without a rider in the funeral procession that symbolizes a fallen hero...I remember feeling a saddest at school and at home...
