Love this! I remember those phones too! You had to make sure no one was on before you made your call! But it sure was easy to get an operator. Today, if you get a human! they are usually 4000 miles away!! lol Oh...yeah...very nice layout!!
Awesome layout.. Really like that negative strip!.. I think I am going to need to get me some of those.. Funny thing is, I remember those days too with the party lines.. And sitting at the kitchen table was the central location in the house. Now the central location is the TV.. Really like this layout.. You did a great job on this and showing tribute to your family. {{hugs}} to you for sharing this awesome memory!..
This is such a wonderful layout - love the photo and the papers that you used!!! Gee, I remember as a small child we had one of those ringer phones - you would pick the phone up to have the operator make a call, and you would hear someone else on the line talking!!! Oh my, I am old. . . (LOL) :>)
Journaling: This is Grandma Koehler and Grandpa Mogck relaxing and reading the paper at a family gathering in the late fifties. I remember the old ringer phone. Grandma and Grandpa "rang up" the operator and asked to be connected to whomever they wanted to call. It was a party line so the people who lived on the neighboring farms could listen in on all of their phone converasatioins.
