JOURNALING:
"It’s funny how our world has changed. Who would have thought that I would count nine women I met online, only two of whom I’ve met in real life, as some of my sweetest, most supportive friends? Each holds a special place in my heart…perhaps because of the way I met them, perhaps because of the stories we’ve shared, perhaps because of their unique views of life. Whatever the reason, I feel lucky, blessed that all of them are now a part of me.

It began with my friendship through Janice. She had been helping sb.com neighbors by offering advice to improve and grow in their scrapbooking. Life got busy and she enlisted the nine of us to help her, a group we laughingly named the “neighborhood-know-it-alls.” Together we offered encouragement and tips to anyone who requested it. Though the thread was retired, our friendships continued.

Now, these are some of the most amazing scrappers I’ve ever met. Their styles, stories and work truly inspire.

Janice – the newly crowned Junkitz Guru is thoughtful and generous and one of my oldest, dearest friends in the ‘hood;
Liz - stylish, lovable and positive, it’s easy to think of her as your best friend;
Heather is sweet and caring and always has something nice to say;
Leora’s talents are endless and her heart is incredibly big as she puts so much of herself into her teaching;
Julie is gentle and kind and such a gifted photographer;
Becky has a roaring great sense of humor and an enviable way of telling a story that keeps you spellbound;
Emily is a tell-it-like-it-is kick-in-the-pants - the kind of friend you would want in your corner who will never let you lose sight of what’s real;
Mel, has to be one of the most articulate, eloquent people I’ve ever met with a sharp wit that makes me glad she’s my friend and not otherwise – I’ve lost track of how many times she has made me laugh out loud; and finally,
Pam – a strong, courageous spirit with a deep sense of loyalty to her family and friends, sensitive and compassionate, she’ll always be there when you need someone to lean on or stand up for you.

I love all of these women and count my blessings that I live in this day and age where such friendships can be made.

One day in the not-too-distant future, I hope to be able to hang out with each and every one of them."
