Recent pic4 of my girls playing at the beach. 12x15 lo. Thanks for peeking!
- Strips of patterned paper were mounted on 3 layers of Fun Foam to make them high enough to protect the real shells.
- Printed title on transparency.
- Photo is mounted on one layer of Fun Foam to make enough room for the journaling. Though you can't see it in the scan, there's a bit of twine to the bottom left of the photo that you use to pull out the hidden journaling.

JOURNALING:
Ah yes, the life of a couple two-year-olds in California. Knee deep in soft sand, blanketed by warm sunshine and surrounded by the sound of crashing waves on the shore. What better playground could there be? If your favorite cartoons accurately reflect the typical lives of other pre-K kids, such as “Caillou” or “Clifford’s Puppy Days,” then you are certainly ahead of many other kids in the beach trip department. Younger than the four-year-olds in those shows, beach trips are not a rare thing for you. Just 20 miles from Santa Cruz, Mommy and Pappa often make the last-minute [that morning] decision to head down to the shore.
As you grow older, you will graduate from your plastic shovels and buckets to skim boards or boogie boards, maybe even surfboards and windsurf gear. Who knows? For now, you are luckier than you can imagine. Other kids don’t experience this stuff until a bit later in life. But you have parents that have spent much of their adult lives on the beach playing volleyball, running in the sand, windsurfing, boogie-boarding…you name it. And yes, we certainly intend to make sure that you guys experience the same…in your own way and own time, of course. So, here’s to California livin’…and growin’. Our little beach babes.
