My high school graduation. journaling reads: Three years at Northside High School sure did go by fast! There were lots of great memories made there. I was a member of Spanish club, Spanish honor society, Senior council, Honor society, My Alpha Theta (math club) and I played the violin. Every year, we went on a trip to a national orchestra competition. Our trips to Nashville, New Orleans, and Kansas City remain some of my best memories. My best friend was Tobie ******. We didn’t really like each other in Junior High, but after we were in the same classes, a friendship grew. We had good times and bad, but I can say that they were all memorable. I’ll never forget the day after her house was destroyed in the tornado of 1996, when we sat in the laundry mat washing every piece of clothing she owned and playing gin. We felt just like Better Midler and Barbra Hershey in Beaches. We became college roommates, but after college, we just drifted apart. Time changes things, and for us, it wasn’t a good thing. But I’ll never forget the great memories we made together. My favorite teacher was my Spanish teacher Mrs. Kennedy. She was like a second mom to me. She helped me through a lot of hard times. In my senior year, I had her for Spanish and I was a TA in two other periods. She was so special that I asked her to be in my wedding a few years later. To this day we still keep in touch. I cried when I graduated, but I moved on to new things, college and a family, but I’ll never forget my 3 years at NHS!! Go Grizzlies!!!
