this is my mother's wedding day almost 10 years ago. journaling reads:

For 18 years now, you have put me first in your life. For 18 years you have been just a mom. Now it’s time for you to come first. Now it’s time for you to become a wife. It’s time for you to take care of you. You’ve given me a great start, and you can rest easy knowing the foundation you have laid for me will make me who I am going to be. I’ve learned both what to do and what not to do in life. You have been my guardian, my protector, my biggest fan. Now it’s time for you to be not only my mom, but also my friend. I love you and wish you a world of happiness…. the kind of happiness that I have because you are you. It’s time to say “I do” to your own life. Never forget though that you will always be my mama. I love you!
