Journaling reads: Hopkinsville is rich in history. Pictured here is my house on South Main Street in the historical district. It was built around the turn of the 20th century. I have a mirror hanging in my dining room that once belonged to the Bethel College that was torn down in 1966. It was said that the college was only closed twice during it’s history. During the Civil War, it served as a hospital for wounded soldiers. During WWII, it was used as barracks to house soldiers from Ft. Campbell.
Pictured here is Main Street in downtown Hopkinsville just a few blocks from my house. At left in the picture, a sign for Ferrell’s can be seen. This restaurant has been located here for at least 70 years and is still owned and operated by the Ferrell family.
