These pictures chronicle the joy and delight Maggie felt as she savored my grandmother's white sugar cookies for the first time this Christmas. I have included the recipe on this LO for posterity as well.
Journaling: Every year for Christmas, Grandma sends a care package filled with cookies of all kinds. There are always Iced Orange Cookies, Smar Bakelars (Swedish Christmas Cookies), Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies, Filled Cookies, and White Sugar Cookies. I swear that no one on earth makes cookies like my grandmother! They are fall-apart-melt-in-your-mouth delicious! The kids look forward to her package every year, but this year was the first year that Maggie was able to really enjoy Grandma's baked delights. Her favorite by far is the White Sugar Cookie. Who can blame her? Grandma tells stories of me eating one after the other as a child. I guess Maggie takes after her Momma.
