SHCG: Awesome Lo girl, wouldn't change a thing. I love the corrugated board, the paint, the colors! Those xrays look painful with all those pins, ouch :(
SHCG: owe owe owe This is such a great dramatic page. Of course we are immediately hit by the photos and then begin to appreciate the details of the page in the corrugate, stitching, stamps, color choices, arrow. The stripped pp takes the eye from the title back to the photos, as if you could escape those photos. I thought it was interesting that the date was so large. But given the subject we can see why it would be so large, While I can appreciate journaling, a simple sentence on the lower left may be all you need.
SHCG: I love it all, everything is perfect! It nice that you scraped the x-ray of your leg! It's great therapy! I wish you included some journaling-may be you can still do on the back or something. Great, great job!
SHCG: Both my legs are still hurting just looking at those x-rays. The colors used, the textures, inks, paints, stitches, cardboard paper, PP, are all amazing. Your triumph over this injury is evident in the fantastic job you did creating this LO. At some point when you are able to journal about what happened, what you went through and place it or hide it in the LO, it will be the final step in healing. As always, your LO's are inspiring and wonderful to look at.
SCHG: Oh, Wendy the first time I looked at this lo, I just winced in pain for you. Looking at it again, I still cringe, but I'm also just in awe of your strength, and how gracefully it seems to me you endured this. On to the page, I love the distressed corrugated cardboard, the black pearls with the scrawled lines, the thick staples, and all the different fonts of the letters. The pps you chose are both perfect and ironic given the name of the collection. You mentioned you're not anxious to journal, yet, so my suggestions are for future consideration. If you still find it hard, later down the line, I think your description above could also be enough to cover it. I can see your journaling tucked between the cardboard and the striped pp at the top. Or, if you wanna keep it minimal, write it on your hospital bracelet if you still have it. Thank you so much for this point in your life that you'd rather forget. This is the embodiment (no pun intended) of scrap therapy.
SHCG - Wendy, you continue to be a source of inspiration to me as I battle my lil' knee thing - look at what YOU battled! AND way to channel your artistry to document this big (yet not pleasant) part of your life. The LO is freakin fantastic - the paint, cardboard, inks, stamps... I can see you at least eked some FUN from the episode by creating this page. Cool textures & edgy feel... every element is outstanding here. A minuscule thing, I could see scooching the pic/cardboard over just a bit to the left so it's not dead center. But INCREDIBLE page as is! Love it!
Wonderful layout! Luv how you documented this moment in your life. I know exactly what your saying, I just had knee surgery. You've given me inspiration to scrap my experience.
These are x-rays taken after I broke my leg and had surgery to put it back together. I have not written any journaling for this page yet, but probably will at some point in time. Overall, I really do not like thinking back to this point of my life; however, it was important for me to make a page about it as it will always be a pretty monumental point in my life. Believe it or not I did enjoy putting the page together. I had a lot of fun with paint, stamps and ink. The dots are from a painted foam stamp as well as the xray letters.
