This is an awesome layout. There are so many aspects that I love!!!! I love the color coding...I love the use of ribbon to block out the sections, I love the concept. This must have been so much fun for you to do!!!
TOO FREAKIN' COOL...and I don't usually type in all caps. Great idea, love that it's a 2-pager to make it a full rainbow arc of colour, love the *playful* mix of embellies and really love the white borders on the photos to pop them off of the black.
Very attention getting and fun idea--both for scrapping and as an activity to do with the kids! Very teacher-y of you with the color sorting. I wish I had pics of all my fave toys, too, but you did give me an idea of how I could accomplish that for myself. I like that you put the secondary colors in between the primary colors that they come from. (Yes, I actually checked for this.) I love the overall composition of the lo, like sun rays. I also like the index print size of the photos (economical!), the title quote, font, and colors, the white bg, the black cs, and all the buttons, flowers, and ribbons. I like K's idea of sanding the edges, as well, but the white borders appeal to me more. I do have two nit-picky critiques. The flowers at the bases of the yellow, green, and purple sections are a little too crowded for me. I prefer the black space between the flowers at the base of the orange section and the rest of the items above them. I like the red ric rac, but since it is the only piece of ric rac, I find it a little distracting, and my focus tends to keep drifting back to the red, as a result.
This is fanatastic Tiff! I love how you have seperated the toys by colour and used the same colour emelishments too. I love that you got the kids invovled as well! This will definatly be great to back on a few years from now! O and I also like the white makes them pop off the black.
Wowza this is fabulouso! I love the use of color here - love the sorting of each toy by color (it must've taken forever to take those pics) & the extras (ribbon, buttons, flowers n mo'!) in each hue. It is so awesome that you captured this...this will be even more of a blast to look at in the future. I like the white matting, gives the pics more of a "snapshot" feel plus discerns the pics more from the dark background. Can I come over n play now?
Tiff, this is way cool! I love the way you did the quote with the different colors! Love the little photos of the toys! I think you can ink the white mats with the same color ink as the toys in the pics. Fun lo!
I soooo LOVE this LO!!! Its beautiful with all of the color and I can see your kids 15 years from now all gathered around remembering their old toys! How fun. I personally also like the white matting.
This is so awesome! What a wonderfully eclectic idea and those toys will be VINTAGE someday. You'll be able to show your grandkids... "Look what your mom/dad played with as a kid!" I must say, I LIKE the mini-photo look of the white mats.
First off, I think it's so cool that you were able to turn this into something for you and the kids to do together... Can you be my mom? heh... Now to business. I love your whole concept here. Sooooo creative... I do agree with K about the white matting (if indeed it is white this time... I never know)... I would have maybe gone to very light versions of the color whose section its in...
Hi Tiffany. I think it's so much fun how you used the colors and I love that quote and how every word is a different color. I have the say that I do not dig the white matting. I would have sanded the edges of the photos slightly instead!
Here is a random sampling of my kids toys. We had fun making this one. We went on a hunt for different colored toys and we all took turns arranging them for pictures. Lots of fun (and good sorting for the little ones)! Journaling reads "we don't stop playing because we grow older...we grow older because we stop playing. I have always loved this saying and thought it was pretty apropos for this LO of playthings.
