Please pass the kleenex. The photos that you've used are stunning, particularly in black & white which you've drawn out so well with the muted red and cream colours. Your journaling, your journaling; beautiful.
This is fanastastic! I love the photos and the one in the O too. The colours are great, the brackets and the arrow. I also like the hinged journalling and the sweet things you have written. Fab page!
Great job on this layout!! Love the hinge hiding the journaling, I love the color scheme with the black and white photo!! And the pictures are great!!!
I LOVE those colors with the black and white photos. Perfect choice! And such a precious subject! I also love that in the last photo at the bottom Jake's eyes are looking right at the date block. I don't know if you mean to do that, but it definately leads you right to it. Anyway, on to the dirty work. I would like to see something done to your hinged journaling. I'd say possibly ink the edge of the black cardstock. I feel like it doesn't look 3D enough to me and therefore doesn't seem as if it is an interactive part of the LO.
This LO is awesome! LOVE the journaling, such heart felt wishes that could only come from a loving mom. The colors are great together and give it an awesome "boyish" feel. As usual, beautiful work!
You've really created a unique niche for yourself, and cornered the market on this color scheme, and this style that screams, "TMTCO!" This is such a great page and conveys the passion you possess as a mother and her highest hopes for her son. I see why red is such a prominent color in your scrappy life. Now, let's look at fine details. I'd like to see some gold ink on those brackets just to complement the hinge and so that they don't look so flat on the page. Also, I have this minor thing about that location/date block. I'd like to see 2002 moved over to the right just to get rid of some of that white space and to even out the margins. I like your handwriting here, btw.
Wow, where do I start?? I love the combo of b&w photos w/ the red background, love the use of placement of multiple photos, love seeing Jake in that O, love the heartfelt hinged journaling, the cool title font, the arrows... all of this is super-wonderful & a great response to the challenge. :) The whole thing is both serene & lively at once, if that makes sense to you (it does to me). You have been crankin out some awesome stuff lately, woman!
I absolutely love these photos. The one with his hands in his pockets is absolutely adorable! I do not see a thing I'd cange. I love where you placed the journaling, love that photo in the "o".. everything.
Adorable and heartfelt! Great journaling (although I can't see how youfit all that behind the hinge). Love the colors and awesome photos - you're into red lately. My favorite is the one with his tootsies! Just wait til he's a size 13!!
"I have a dream...4 this boy" "La Jolla, California, 2002" Hidden journaling behind hinged I have a dream... box "Jake, Some mothers may dream that their children are doctors, lawyers, engineers, firefighters, or even the President. They dream of wealth and success beyond all imagination. However, my dream for you is simple. I have a dream that you will always be happy. To be honest, whatever you choose to do in your life, I beg that it be predicated on happiness." The song I chose for my title is "this boy" written by John Lennon, although credited to Lennon-McCartney. It was recorded in October 1963 and released in November 1963.
