Aw, what a sweet layout. The colours i have to say i just love! The set up on the page is quite nice as it draws your eye to the main photo and journaling. And the white edging looks great, adding definition.
This is a heartwarming story and it's great that you included a picture of your aunt. Since it's so personal, I would have preferred to see the journaling in your own handwriting. I always love it when someone uses these BG pps on a page. I like the white inking around the stars and the pp, as well as the black edges to define the letters in the title. I would like to see the brackets, both the smaller and the shadow, inked, too. Then, I think it could be moved over a little to the right so that "here comes" doesn't look as cramped. The ruler is a nice touch here.
This is gorgeous - I am so moved by the journaling about your aunt & why little Mr. Bingle is so special. Love the pp & the overlapping way you positioned it. Actually love the positioning of everything - title, pic of your aunt. I might be nuts here but I kind of see the bracket turned the other way so the "here comes" is more indicated to apply to the whole thing?? (But I often see brackets differently than most scrappers so feel free to disregard!). And I love how, even w/ the angles here, it's all very balanced. This is such a super, sentimental page - I really really love it.
Tiffany, what a great subject! I love the stars you used here and I see you used the idea of balance with object weights! I love your journaling and the peeps of red everywhere. Great layout girl!
First of all, this title is so cute, it goes perfectly with this stuffed animal. I love all of this pp, and you balanced it perfectly on the page. Those three stars look great there. Also love how you added that little picture in. I really don't think I'd change anything, the paper is distressed perfectly. great job
Glad you loved the challenge; your experience is what I hoped would come out of this (it's really personal too because I'm such a "sentimental collector" so I needed to start writing down about what objects meant to me). Your journaling & this layout are really wonderful. I love the 3 stars...I'm "reading" your layout mentally as each star being 'jingle', 'jangle' and 'jingle' so they're well placed b/c I then immediately read the 'here comes mr. bingle'. I mentioned the typewriter-style font in another l/o and love the use of it here too; something about it that just works wonders.
This layout is for SosumiSan's Object of my Affection challenge that required journaling about an object of significance. Although, I had many ideas, my mind kept floating back to Mr. Bingle. Thanks, Angela for giving me the opportunity to scrap him.
Title: jingle, jangle, jingle...here comes Mr. Bingle
Jingle, jangle, jingle, here comes Mr. Bingle. Journaling: This well-loved Mr. Bingle doll is the only thing that I have that belonged to my dad’s sister, my Aunt Sue. She gave it to me shortly before she died in 1981. She had bought it years before at the Maison Blanche department store on Canal Street in New Orleans, when she lived with my mom’s family. It made me feel special that she would share it with me. Aunt Sue made it clear that I was her favorite. We did everything together. The time that I spent with her is priceless. When I found myself alone at home, she was the one I would call. When I felt sad, she was the one that I would call. When I needed someone to love me, she was the one I would call. I miss her everyday and love to look at my tattered Mr. Bingle that she gave me to love.
