Aly was the cutest, most adorable baby in the world....of course, that's coming from her mother . . . Being a first time mom . . . I never experienced feelings so strong it always made me weak in the knees for one so small. At that moment, I knew why a mother would go to any lengths for their child. I think at that moment I really became a mother.
Journaling: Sometimes I find myself watching you as you play. Your little hands constantly touching, feeling a blanket, a toy, even the fingers of your other hand. Everything seemed so new, so wondrous to you. There are no words I can say to express the emotions that watching you made me feel. I smile when you look up and catch me gazing at your beautiful face. I laugh when a toy finds its way into your mouth and you grin back toothlessly around it. I cry when I realize that you've just learned to reach and grab; another step leading away from babyhood. There are no words I can say that can make someone see how my heart fills with warmth and happiness at the sight of you. How the sunlight graces the crown of your head as you intently study, in all your infancy, the corner of a rather fascinating quilt. Of the determination that spreads across your chubby face as you fumble with your teething ring in an attempt to guide it to your mouth. There are no words I can say that will make someone understand how much you mean to me . . .There are no words I can say . . . except . . . I LOVE YOU.
