DreamyAngel668: Thanks! The cow is a paper piecing from a book called Piecing it! By Suzanne McNeill. I used scraps to cut the cow spots for the frames or borders. I just cut and what ever shape my scissors made, was what I went with. I have also sent you a PM with the name of the book.
I love the cow! Did you get it from somewhere? If so, where?
I like the border too. But did you make that too? Or did someone else make it for you?
It's cute!
Good Job!
What a great lo! I am so impressed that you did all the spots by hand, and your title says it all. However, the piece de resistance is DEFINITELY your genial cow! Tfs!
Thank you all for your comments. WOW. I haven't ever had that many comments on any layout. This one was really fun to do. I completely forgot that this pictures even existed. The cow spots were all cut out of scraps by hand with my Cutter Bee's and the letters were cut wih the exacto knife. The paper piecing is from a paper piecing book that has a lot of animals in it. My dh is so proud of this one...it's him and he was so excited that day. We have a whole roll of film to prove he liked being on the dairy farm. We have one by our house now that gives tours so maybe we'll do that and get more pictures.
WOW, I LOVE THIS!!! I love the cow! She is toooooo cute! Love the expression on her face! I think this SHOULD WIN the contest, it is so adorable and it is a great use of little leftover scraps! It is also going in my favorites...I love blk/wht cows, I may have to scraplift her to frame for my kitchen :)
OMG! This is the cutest!!! I can not believe you hand cut all of those spots! What a great job! What good pictures too. Those poor cows, look at them!!!
This is my lo for Carrielyn's Use your stash, win mine contest. I used all scraps on this lo except for the white background piece of paper. I had that on hand and did not go buy anything for this lo. The cow paper piecing, the cow spots on the frames, and the letters were all cut by hand. I lightly inked the edges of the background, but they were cut off in the scan. The journaling is in the milk can, hidden behind the bottom frame. It says:
Marcos and Dad went to the Grettinger Dairy in 1998 when we were vacationing in Sprirt Lake, IA. This was a high light for Marcos as he had never seen cows being milked before. June 1998.
