WOW girl...you sure know how to create a mood in your LOs...the detail of your work always amazes me. You must have the patience of an angel to create such wonderful accents! LOVE THIS!
I LOVE the medieval mood you've captured here - the seals, distressing and scroll-frame is perfect!! The patterned paper selection is perfect for that photo!!!
omg is that the coolest ever!! Your layout, and this society. I've never heard of it. Sigh. I love the middle ages...
LOVE how you created such a cool and realistic feel for such a gritty, but so very regal time. WONDERFUL work.

I love this layout, not only because is it unique and visually interesting, but because I learned something from it. I didn't know that there are people who are so deep into the middle ages. Now THAT'S really telling a story through scrapbooking.

Very cool! Rolled parchment is unique. Foreign currency makes a great embelli. Background info is really nice, too! Southwestern Ohio has a festival with a medieval theme every summer. It runs about 3 weeks. They have jousting, short skits, and of course "shopping." Everyone has a mug of beer and a turkey leg in hand!
Yay! It posted! Phew!
Anyhow, this was a joint online photodocumentary project with my AMAZING colleagues and friends Shannon Whiskey Fitzgerald and Rick Gillard. Shannon took this regal portrait with a medium format camera during a tournament in No. California. To say the least, this project was ROYALLY fun! TFL...
You may have seen them sword fighting in parks or other public areas, but the Society for Creative Anachronisms (SCA) is more than intellectual eccentrics role playing. It is an international organization where people of all walks of life gather at small and large events to recreate the middle ages and actually live it. Typically a newbie begins by researching a medieval field of particular interest and delving into a chosen persona through authentic garb or armour and the appropriate accroutements. For some it is a recreational hobby, but for many it is a lifestyle complete with their own shire, kingdom, land and reigning king and queen.
This portrait was taken during a student collaborative project documenting the SCA! Let's see if this posts! Ahhh!
