Lo of my daughters on a gorgeous fall day.

The journaling reads:

n this warm and beautiful day, October 23, 2004, we went to the Kewaskum Kiwanis Park. We had been going there all summer, so I could never have envisioned what awaited.

As soon as you saw the fallen leaves under the tree, you were drawn toward them. Nicole, you loved to crinkle them up in your hand - was it the sound or the feel that made you do this? Alyssa and Andrea, you would gather the leaves like bouquet and admire them - like a gorgeous spring bouquet.

We were then off to the playground equipment,
which you had loved all summer. Alyssa, you jumped on the swing - finding that it was more fun swinging on your tummy. Then we noticed that they had just added a new set for

your age group. All three of you instantly jumped on the equipment. Alyssa and Nicole, you favored the teeter-totter. Andrea, you loved rocking on the horse.

discover >verb 1. find unexpectedly or in the course of a search. 2. become aware of (a fact or situation). 3. be the first to find or observe (a place, substance, or scientific phenomenon).

Your attention was quickly diverted by all of the ladybugs (or bugs, as all three of you say). You
were so fascinated with the ladybugs and ran
around pointing out each one with a “Mom, bug, Mom, bug”.

And then, the butterflies came. One caught your attention and then another. The three of you would chase after the butterflies, in complete awe of them. It seemed as if the more you ran around, the more the butterflies came around us. I could feel the excitement in you, especially, Nicole - as you stood over one of the butterflies studying it.

Unfortunately, the time came to go. While walking you home in your “train”, I reflected on all that happened - the fallen leaves, the ladybugs and the butterflies - things that I take for granted. It was then that I discovered that the child still lives in me - I only needed the three of you to bring it out.
