Perched atop a small, rocky inlet in the midst of a shallow tidal bay in France, stands one of my favorite places in the world.
As a teenager, I had the privilege of twice going to see this beautiful Benedictine abbey, which is dedicated to the Archangel, St Michael. This impressive structure dates back to the 8th Century.
It is often said that one does not visit Mont St Michel: one makes the “Journey.” For our 25th Anniversary, I wanted Curt to make the journey with me.
Just like the stairs that we had to climb on a brutally windy day to see the spectacular view at the top of the mountain, our marriage has at times, seemed like we have taken one step forward and two backwards. However, we rest well in knowing that God holds us still in the palm of His hand. We will treasure every step between here and eternity, praising Him times of prosperity and relying on Him to give us strength in times of diversity. December 19, 2004
