That has got to be about the sweetest story I've ever read. What a precious memory. And that explains the unusual title, which intrigued me to begin with. Wonderful job here!!!!

Lenore, this is AWESOME! I love this pic, it is PRECIOUS! I also really like that you saved and added in that telegram. It must have been so special to you all this time! I ama big fan of hidden journaling, and I just love your story and how you put it on this LO. A true treasure!!!
I was so excited to find this photo after so many years! I can't decide whether this LO belongs in the "Book of Me" or "Heirloom" catagory, so I've moved it around a bit!!
The telegram was stuck away in my baby book and reads: "Fuzzy Wuzzy was a fink, but Fuzzy Ears Loves Smiley Pink. Happy birthday and Love, Sid"
The hidden journaling tucked behind the picture reads:
The Story……
Mom and I were on our own from the time I was 2 years old, in 1962. It was then that she met Sid, who would become my Daddy in 1965, when they married. He is the only father I’ve ever known and in 1966, he legally adopted me making us a true family of Salingers.
When I was quite young, Sid and I had nicknames for each other……he was “Fuzzy Ears” and I was “Smiley Pink”. In the summer of 1964, Mom and I were visiting her parents in Chicago and Sid sent me this telegram for my birthday. This became a family joke forever after, because the telegram arrived on July 11th…the day he thought was my birthday, instead of on the 12th, the correct day! Dad has teased me since then that my birthday is really the 11th!!!
This picture was taken of the two of us in December 1965, the first holiday season after Mom and Dad were married. I think it’s a wonderful “Father-Daughter” photo!!
