Hey, why don't you submit this in the scrapworks contest? It is really unique. I love the fact that you created your own background paper. the overlapping of the larger and smaller photo adds real interest too.

This picture was taken of me in 1958, so I wanted to reflect that era. I painted my own background pattern paper with acrylics (by the way, regular acrylics don't case any problems with a good quality cardstock. You don't need to spend a lot of money on "scrapbooking paint.") I always spray it with a finishing spray. If the cardstock decides to curl up a little on the edges, it's not a worry because it always smooths back out once I put the layout in a page protector.
It's a lot of fun to paint your own backgrounds. Try it and see!
