Not sure I ever visited there when Mama and Daddy were there. Looks so peaceful, no wonder they loved it! Beautiful details on this layout...and a great use of stickers! Those things are hard to use! LOL!
I love the way you managed to situate the photographs on the layout in a way that makes you feel like your eye just drove right up to that cabin in a virtual way. Fussy cutting is so tedious, but the results are ALWAYS worth it in the end. This is one of those ends! Great detail work.
Journal: "When Daddy worked in Charleston, SC, he became friends with a co-worker named Bubba Lucas. Bubba had a cabin up in the mountains near Saluda, NC. Over the years, Bubba let us go up and stay there many times. The cabin was so cool. It was situated on the side of a mountain, with a stream literally right outside the front door. The little bridge that Mama's car is parked on spanned the stream. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with Mama, Daddy, Karen, and several other family members up there... Circa 1970"
The wood-grain border is hand cut with little pinecone stickers added all around. The cabin, the "wood" border under it, the mountain border, the clouds, birds, and trees are all stickers from my older stash. The little road is hand cut, inked and doodled. The bg papers are from an old kit from the $ store. Thanks for stopping by :)
