Wow! This is an awesome heritage/vintage lo. The pp, colors, lace and buttons are perfect for the era. Your creativity shines once again - using scraps and bits of this to have everything come together so wonderfully. Love it all!
Great color combination...love that you were able to use your scraps to make this layout. Love all the little special touches...like the lace and the hand cut edges. Super cute!
Oh I love the pink and black together. Your design is amazing! I love all the different papers and shapes and how you managed that b for their name. Beautiful journaling as well.
A beautiful heritage page!!! I love the blend of colors and patterns and shapes, the lace trims that lend a vintage feel, the pretty buttons and bows and your wonderful doodling.
You made such a beautiful tribute to Jesse and Annie. It is pretty and elegant. I like how the black and pink complement the black and white photo. You nailed this one. The story was inspirational.
The design of this layout is so beautiful! The colors that you chose go so well, really like the black and white checks along with the pink and black frame around the photo. The photo is so precious too.
Journaling reads: This is Jerry’s Granddaddy Jesse Buchanan and his wife Annie. Annie was his third wife, following the deaths of his two previous wives. Annie was strong-willed, would tell you what she thought in a heartbeat, loved her flower gardens and was a very good cook. This photo was taken in the late ‘60’s on the front porch of Jesse and Annie’s house just off of North 9th Street on West Tinsley Street in Griffin, Georgia. Several years later they moved into “the little house”, as we called it. It was a small block house that Dorothy and BJ (Jerry’s parents) built behind their house for Jesse and Annie to live in when they got old enough to need help.
I have no idea who any of the pps were made by - they are mostly from my scrap boxes. The pink and black mats on the photo were cut by hand - I used Bo Bunny's Chunky Charms for patterns. I added some pen stitching around the pink frame edges and the circles with black. The black swirl and circles were also cut by hand. The pink/white polka dot circle was cut with very small scallop scissors. The buttons are vintage and the black leaf is a rub on. The ivory lace is over 30 years old and from my stash. The "b" is chipboard that happened to match the pp - I got this from a friends discards - perfect! The little card with the roses is something I found online and had printed out about a dozen of them to use at a wedding shower - repurposed! Lastly, I added the little bow to the top corner of the photo. Thanks so much for stopping by :)
