What a wonderful layout! I hope you don't mind if I copy the poem for when I do a page about my dad from about the same time period. You did a great job!
There isn't one type of LO you don't master ... the previous "fresh" spring LO, and now this vintage page, each of them equally perfect!! I love the way you let the pictures set the mood of your pages, and they all turn out wonderful!! This one is particularly beautiful, I love every little detail of this page!!
I got misty-eyed reading the poem. I remember well all the times we spent the evening listening to Daddy read poetry! Gorgeous layout!!! He is a HANDSOME man!!! click, click...to my faves!!!
Well, first of all, I think this is just about the most handsome man I've seen on here! Even if he was my daddy!!!! Although, I don't remember him looking like that - all that curly hair! LOL! Love the photo, the Graphic 45 pps, the clocks, the key, the scrabble tiles, EVERYTHING! The poem is absolutely perfect - he loved poetry so much and that was one of his favorites - I can remember him reading it to us. And the poem describes him so perfectly! Fanatastic job on the inking and stamping, too! BEAUTIFUL layout! To my FAVES!!!!!!
WOW !!!! This is perfect !!! I love all the embellies u used here!! The clocks, the key, & those awesome pix of the old car & tall buildings !!! Love it all !!
This is a photo of my Grandpa (mom's Dad) taken when he was in the army. It's one of my favorite pics of him. The poem was one of his favorites and reads:
"You don't have to tell how you live each day, You don't have to say if you work or play, A tried, true barometer serves in the place However you live, it will show in your face. The false, the deceit you bear in your heart Will not stay inside, where it first got a start, For sinew and blood are a thin veil of lace, What you wear in your heart you wear in your face. If your life is unselfish, if for others you live For not what you get, but for how much you can give, If you live close to God, in His infinite grace, You don't have to tell it, it shows in your face."
All pp's I used are from Graphic 45's Time Nouveau line. Corner stamps are by Maya Road. The journaling tag behind the photo is by 7 Gypsies and reads: "The Story Of: Edward Pierce Perdue This photo of my Grandpa was taken after he joined the army & went to Germany It was 1944- he was 24 yrs. old & had been in Germany for three yrs. He loved to read poetry & this poem was one of his favorites." Wish I could've journaled more but the tag was really small. Thanks so much for looking!!!
