I can't believe I'm posting these photos online. I feel I should preface this by saying that normally when it comes to my room, I am very much a neat freak and it is very rare that you will find my room in such a state of disarray. That being said, there are some days...weeks...when cleaning gets pushed back on my priority list. I'm just going to blame school for instances such as these. Anyway, moving on...for this page I used papers from Basic Grey's "Urban Prairie" line. I cut out the honeycomb paper by hand and pop-dotted one of the pieces. The blue background piece was actually a solid when I started- I drew the lines using a ruler and a black Zig pen. The title comes from a poem by Shel Silverstein ("Messy Room"). I included the poem on the journaling strips at the bottom. I had to make slight alterations- basically changed it from masculine to feminine. Here it is, for those interested-

Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Her underwear is hanging on the lamp.
Her raincoat is there in the overstuffed chair,
And the chair is becoming quite mucky and damp.
Her workbook is wedged in the window,
Her sweater’s been thrown on the floor.
Her scarf and one ski are beneath the TV,
And her pants have been carelessly hung on the door.
Her books are all jammed in the closet,
Her vest has been left in the hall.
A lizard named Ed is asleep in her bed,
And her smelly old sock has been stuck to the wall.
Whosever room this is should be ashamed!
Donna or Roberta or Sally or—
Huh? You say it’s mine? Oh dear,
I knew it looked familiar!

- “Messy Room” by Shel Silverstein

Thanks so much for looking!!
