This simple lo took FOREVER to do and I'm still not 100% satisfied. Feeling a bit under the weather so please excuse the sloppiness :) Girls Day is one of the many things we celebrate in the Japanese culture. It's basically a day to wish the girls in your family happiness, long life, and prosperity. We have many traditions that you do on this day, that I haven't done because I'm no longer a "girl". So it brought back a lot of memories when my ds brought home an art project from school for me on Girls' Day. Reminded me to keep the little girl in me alive :) TFL!

Journaling: When I was a little girl, every year on the 3rd of March we celebrated Girls' Day. Now being the only girl, with 5 brothers, it was my very own special day. My Grams would make pink, green, & white mochi to place on the display we set up. How I loved to see all the little Japanese dolls lined up neatly in a row. I was so proud that these things we set out just for me. Now as a grown woman and a Mother to a boy, I have not celebrated this day in a really long time. Well this year you came home from school with this paper doll, gave me a big hug and said, "Happy Girls' Day, Mom!" How it warmed my heart and reminded me that you're only as old as you feel. And my sweet boy, with that hug you made me feel like a little girl all over again. Thanks for the love.
