Wow Christine, this is gorgeous! You are a master craftsman! Your composition is balanced, your color story is delightful and your layering is fabulous! So happy to hear you hit a home run with your daughter's friend!
Gorgeous composition and colours! Love the BG papers and the aged and distressed effect you achieved with the crackle paste and crayon.
A wonderful present!
I created this canvas for a graduating high school senior we have known since she was a baby. She was in daycare with my daughter and is one of my daughter's first friends. I wanted something special for her. She has the most beautiful voice so featuring music notes was a perfect idea. I decided to use ovals on this canvas from another Basic grey paper line and some die cut flowers which I watercolored using distress crayons. Also water colored on of the moths. I also added some crackle paste through a stencil to add more texture. There is some crazing collage media on the canvas to give a hint of cracking to the canvas. I added some black soot crayon watered down to highlight the cracks (check out the close up images). Some stamping and the background is rice paper with music notes. FYI, she loved it and said it was perfect for her dorm room! Score!
