There's a challenge going on in sb.com called "Every kid should" or something like that. You should make a page with this picture. Because every kid should have the chance to grow up in a safe, secure and loving environment. I think this is what you are providing for him.
I got choked up reading this story. All kids, no matter how much they act up (my DS included) have a warm side to them. They may need more time than most to learn a lesson but as long as they learn it that is all that matters. You are doing a great job mom.
brought tears to my eyes, hang in there, be consistent and cover him in Love and grace! He see's it and you are getting through! This is a beautiful shot of him, you can see such emotion in his eyes!
great shot! reminds me of what I heard Kenny Rogers say on Oprah the other day. "What I have learned about raising boys is keep them busy, cause if they get bored they will dismantle your house board by board." My own ds can be a wonderful little gentleman at times but when he is bored he will torment his sisters just to liven things up. so..I wrote all that to say, keep him busy I'm sure he's a sweetheart at heart.
Moments like that make it all worth while, don't they? Very sweet - so glad you could capture the moment like this and thanks for sharing it with us :)
Great shot - TFS!

What a great moment to capture! Step-mom-ing brings it's own unique challenges to parenting. Looks like you are doing a great job! **I do think the youngest are usually the troublemakers.... maybe it's just a coincidence though :)
What a moment, these are the reasons we are able to keep plugging away even when it seems like it's not working because at some point it clicks! Good job for working so hard to keep him on track!
Sometimes you feel like hitting your head against a wall and then suddenly there is a rewarding moment such as this and you realise it is all worth while. Great job on being such a wonderful stepmum
that's nice that he has openly acknowledged that you are teaching him, and that he is learning from it. Shows that he respects and loves you as well. :) I'd be crying too. :)
So I wasn't taking this photo for the homework it's because of what he said while doing it. This is our youngest boy (8) he's a trouble maker. Always bugging kids in school, never listening to ANY rules, grounded for the better part of the day. (Our grounding is sitting thinking about what you did for a while then explaining why it's wrong, he just gets in trouble more than once a day that's why he sits for half of it!) Anyways being grounded for lying about taking candy he was sitting doing his homework and looked up and said "I'm glad I have a mom like you" I said why he said "cuz you teach me stuff so I learn" I almost starting crying (since.. in short I'm his step mom and he's real mom isn't the best) I told him I loved him and snapped this photo. I love kids!
