Layout of DD birth announcement. When I mailed it to friends/family I put in a little card that I made. I had to put it in the layout..and made it a bit more decorative that a printed computer sheet. It read:
You should see her big, wide smile! It was a surprise to us when Mya was born with a cleft lip (and palate). It is a very common and completely repairable birth condition. We will try to keep you all informed as she begins the repair process. Meanwhile, we are enjoying the new, sweet little blessing to our family. Miguel is very proud to have his new baby. And we are very proud of both of our lovely children.

In the beginning I read so many accounts of cleft affected kids who said their parents didn't take presurgery photos or kept their presurgery photos shut away and made the kid grow up feeling ashamed. I was determined that my little girl would KNOW that no matter what, she was just perfect to me.
