I had serious "scrapbooker's block" when it came to scrapbooking this somber subject, Thailand's Death Railway/Hellfire Pass. It didn't help that I learned the Kwai bridge, we all photographed, really wasn't the actual WWII bridge and that the story portrayed in the movie was, for the most part, fictional. And if that was not bad enough, during our tour several complained they were not interested in seeing these WWII sites, so we passed over some stops. Several in my travel group didn't feel the need to show any kind of respect to these events or the prisoners/people that lost their lives. What a bunch of whiny babies.
So I wanted to be sure to show these locations with reverence. So in my book, posing next to giant plastic atom bombs was not the way to go. (And there were giant plastic atom bombs at the edge of the bridge.) This two page spread is a combination of 3 tour stops.

Thank you for stopping by

PS for those interested, lower right hand image. In Photoshop
- added a second layer (a copy of the image) and converted it to black & white
- erased the train portion in the B&W layer so the color version underneath showed through
- used a circular, blur filter to turn tourists into ghosts of the prisoners
- added an enlargement of the train to show motion. [in theory (to show motion), the enlarged image should been below the original image but I didn't want the focus to move to the lower right-hand corner & right off the page.]
